Every race is powered by more than the runners. It takes a community of people working behind the scenes to create an experience that runners will remember.

At RiCON, volunteers are an essential part of every event. From aid stations and course marshaling to race operations and photographers, our volunteers help keep the race moving and make every runner's journey safer, smoother, and more memorable.

Your skills, experience, and ability match the role you're placed in.

Relevant Experience

Prior experience in races, sports, events, or outdoor activities helps, but isn't required for every role.

Physical Readiness

Capable of handling the physical requirements of your assignment, whether that's a full day on your feet or hours on the trail.

Availability

Able to commit to the required shift and the event's schedule.

Communication

Can communicate clearly with runners, staff, and fellow volunteers, often under pressure.

Teamwork

Willing and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibility

Reliable, punctual, and willing to follow instructions on race day.

Problem-Solving

Stays calm and responds appropriately to unexpected situations on course.

Safety Awareness

Understands and follows safety and event protocols at all times.

Running Groups & Communities

Serve Together, Run Together

Running groups, clubs, and communities are encouraged to volunteer together and be part of the RiCON experience.

90 Hours = 3 Complimentary Race Kits

In addition to individual volunteer benefits, groups and communities that collectively complete a minimum of 90 volunteer hours may receive 3 complimentary race kits for TGC100 or a selected upcoming RiCON event. Kits may be assigned to any member of the participating group.

Volunteer hours must be completed and verified by the RiCON organizing team. Complimentary race kits are valid only for TGC100 and selected upcoming RiCON events, subject to event availability and other applicable terms.

Organizers provide space for team banners at the race base or aid stations. All collaborating running groups get their team logo featured on the RiCON website, social media, race briefing, and media launch.
