Route Description
From Scout Hill, the 100K begins under the cover of night. Runners move out on a mix of paved road and trail before entering the forested paths that lead toward Happy Hallow, gradually settling into rhythm as the course transitions away from the city.
Beyond this point, the route descends steadily toward Gumatdang, marking the shift from Baguio's outskirts into the deeper terrain of Itogon. The early kilometers are defined by wide trails and gravel roads, passing through quiet villages, small mining sites, and community paths. This opening stretch is largely downhill, guiding runners toward Aid Station 1 at around KM12.
From Gumatdang, the course continues outward into rolling terrain, heading towards the Tailings Dam before carrying runners deeper into the mountains. As you move through this section at night, you'll pass local hot springs and riverside areas in the dark.
A series of footbridges leads to the base of the climb toward Ave Maria Shrine. Beginning around the early hours of the morning, this ascent starts from the Ma-nit Waiting Shed and follows a narrowing singletrack through Tokok and nearby water springs. The climb is steady and quiet, building gradually as you make your way upward, occasionally accompanied by the sounds of the surrounding landscape, and perhaps even the presence of grazing cattle near the shrine.
From Ave Maria, the course transitions onto old missionary paths that lead toward Sitio Sayo. As dawn approaches, the terrain opens into rice farming areas, with a mix of concrete village paths and dirt singletrack guiding you down toward Asin Bridge.
At KM25, near Dalupirip Barangay Hall, the course turns upward once more. The climb to Mt. Palanchey begins with a series of switchbacks, gradually rising into pine forest. For many, this is where the sunrise reveals itself, casting light across the ridgelines and offering a brief reset before the next sequence of peaks.
From here, runners can take an optional short detour to peak bag the summit of Mt. Marikit (should they wish to), or continue straight along the main route descending toward Bayokong. The climb to Bayokong exposes wide views across the mountains before dropping into rugged, lesser-traveled trails that cut through cattle lands and open terrain.
The course then moves toward Mongso, an area once inhabited by Ibaloi farming communities. Remnants of the past remain scattered throughout, including parts of a 1987 plane crash, alongside overgrown traces of former agricultural life such as banana trees, ginger, mango, and avocado.
From Mongso, the trail contours toward Apujao, crossing three (3) streams along the way before climbing to Aid Station 3 in Buhao.
Beyond Buhao, the route shifts character once again.
A newly established gravel road leads toward Bantic, opening views to the left of Nueva Vizcaya's rolling hills and ridgelines. From Bantic, runners traverse toward Tenidi Hill, where the Agno River comes into view below.
The descent that follows is technical. It's rocky, loose, and was once used as a primary access path for upland communities. At the base, the course turns right and follows a gravel road toward Tabu, eventually crossing the Cashet footbridge.
From here, the route transitions into farm-to-market roads, double-track paths and gravel stretches that wind through rural landscapes. At Calew, runners turn right onto a trail toward Ayosip, leading to another footbridge crossing before the road widens again approaching Aid Station 5 at Dalupirip Barangay Hall.
From Dalupirip, the return journey finally begins.
Runners retrace their path back toward Sitio Sayo, this time turning left to begin the climb toward Mt. Kotkot via the Suyoc Trail. As you ascend, the landscape offers a different perspective: overlooking the same valleys and paths you passed through earlier in the race, now seen with the weight of distance behind you.
At the summit of Mt. Kotkot, the ridgelines open into a flowing stretch of singletrack toward Caoyas, weaving through pine-covered terrain. Approaching Mt. Ulap, the trail steepens again. A descent into the valley leads to a river crossing, marking the start of the climb toward one of Benguet's most iconic high points. The ascent unfolds gradually before giving way to a long descent toward Ampucao.
From here, the course turns fully toward home.
The ridgeline descent is technical and demanding, requiring steady footing and focus as you work your way back toward the hot spring area passed earlier in the race, now completing the second loop. Reaching this point signals the beginning of the final 20 kilometers: a sustained return to Scout Hill.
The terrain, now familiar but far from easy, gradually trends upward. This is where the race narrows into the essentials: staying fueled, managing effort, and continuing forward with intention for its final test section.
As the trail leads you back into Scout Hill, the finish line welcomes your return from a journey that has moved through communities, crossed landscapes, and unfolded across the full rhythm of a hundred kilometers.
